Saint Peter Christian Academy
Proverbs 22:6 reads, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” These words to a large extent describe the mission of this school, and what must also be the mission of the administration and faculty. Three of the most essential elements in operating a Christian school are: (1) your administration and faculty must be Christians (2) the program and curriculum must be biblical (3) those in charge must be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Children cannot be allowed to grow up like weeds. We must recognize them as God’s wonderful gift to us as parents and teachers. We therefore invite the parents to acquaint themselves with the Lord, and assist us in providing their children with a good academic education on the secular level and also instill within them important spiritual values. Our mission and purpose is therefore to help children to grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man, “Just like Jesus” (Luke 2:52).
We recognize and accept the enormous challenge and commitment required of us. In this day of crisis within the educational system of our nation, we rededicate ourselves to the principles of Christian education. Ministering to the total person based upon the word of God. Our ministry at St. Peter is not anti-public education. We simply want to provide a good Christian alternative.
In their book, on the Problems, Principles, and Practices of Christian School Boards, Gibbs and Mills say, “There is a fundamental difference between the Christian and secular approaches to education that must be understood… The facts of knowledge are identical for both. The difference lies in how these facts are interpreted and implemented.” Our children must know they must be educated to their full potential. It is the responsibility of the home, the church, and the school working together to bring our children to a full and Godly commitment to Jesus Christ.
St. Peter Christian Academy’s commitment is to a Christ-centered ministry, (educational program) that will help each child grow as Jesus did – In wisdom, stature, in favor with God and mankind. Luke 2:52′
